Have you been hearing the snap, crackle and pop of firework-lighting practice going off in your neighborhood? That means that the 4th of July is almost here!
For the Mix listeners who live in an area where it is legal to light fireworks, we’ve come up with the perfect 5-song playlist for you to light your backyard with.
And for those of you who can’t light your own fireworks, this playlist also doubles as the perfect 4th of July party playlist!

1. “Firework” by Katy Perry
We’re not sure if Katy Perry’s “Firework” will ever not be featured during a fireworks display. Before Katy’s song, we never used the word “firework” in its singular form. Her powerful song may have actually changed how we talk about the patriotic tradition. How perfect is this song for the 4th of July?
2. “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus
As much as Miley would like to forget this part of her career, we like to remember it over and over ever year on the 4th of July. Party in the USA = a 4th of July party. Go ahead and blast this guilty pleasure with pride. Your guests will secretly love it!
3. “Born in the USA” by Bruce Springsteen
You don’t want to piss off the Boss, so you better include his 4th of July anthem at your party! However, we must warn you to beware of red solo cup spillage. People can’t help but fist pump to the intro of “Born in the USA”!
4. “Made in the USA” by Demi Lovato
Instead of talking about herself being born in the USA, Demi sings about her and a significant other’s love being “born” or “made” in the USA. This is a great song for the drunken karaoke portion of your party.
5. “All American Girl” by Carrie Underwood
This one is for all you country fans out there! Who doesn’t love a sweet, little, beautiful, wonderful, perfect all-American girl?
